Performance Max Video Guide

Performance Max is designed to complement your keyword-based Search campaigns to find more converting customers across all of Google’s channels like YouTube, Display, Search, Discover, Gmail, and Maps.
Performance Max helps drive performance based on specified conversion goals, delivering more conversions and optimising performance. It uses a mixture of creative assets including video.
Guidelines for best performance #
If you would like to create short video for use within your Google Ads Performance Max campaign, please follow this best practice guide:
- Create from one to five videos
- Each video should have a minimum length of 10 seconds
- Each video should have a maximum length of 60 seconds
- Videos must be uploaded on YouTube for use in adverts (these can be set as “unlisted” if you do not want them to be viewable on your YouTube channel).
- Your brand logo or icon should be present throughout
- Engage users within the first 5 seconds to prevent them skipping past your ad
- Match the aesthetic of the video to your brand (i.e. colouring, imagery, fonts)
- Provide a clear Call to Action
